M2020 Vision & Rover Compute Element
Delivery of the Mars 2020 Vision & Rover Compute Element (high performance spaceflight computer) that enables terrain relative navigation and rapid surface driving.

About project
A new addition to the Perseverance rover, the Vision Compute Element enables the Lander Vision System to autonomously select a safe landing site, through Terrain Relative Navigation.
Key Contributions
Design, manufacturing and testing of critical rover flight electronic assemblies, maintaining schedule yielding a successful mission.

Responsible engineer for coordinating dynamic and thermal testing at JPL’s Environmental Test Lab (ETL), creating test plans, procedures and reports for critical flight electronic assemblies.

Thermal and tolerance analysis of VCE’s Computer Vision Accelerator Card (CVAC), including FEA, hand calcs and physical testing to verify copper encapsulated graphite heat sink.
